I’ve been using it for a few months now. Many instructions are unclear. For example, Section 6 is about finger style and faster picking, but the individual chapters don’t specify whether an exercise should be played finger style or with a pick. Ear training is also confusing for a beginner. There are no clear instructions, either in text or video, about what exactly you’re supposed to learn or practice. Overall, it’s a good app, but the guidance needs to be much clearer.

The app is like Duolingo for guitar. It's simplistic and extremely repetitive with basic single cord exercises that doesn't provide you with any realistic progress. Then it will hit you with "complicated" exercises that start exciting you, only to go back to the boring useless 1 cord exercises. Then there's the issue of the app not picking up on the sound. I know I play it correctly, but sometimes it doesn't register. No one can possibly learn this way. Find stuff at U-Tube instead for free.

I tried the free version for 4 days and it wasn't great. No matter how many times I try, I can't pass a level because the app doesn't recognize when I pluck the 2nd string 3rd fret. I've experienced troubles like this on multiple lessons here, but at least I could pass those levels. Also, the lessons are too easy, even for a beginner. I've had much better luck learning chords and songs on YouTube. Downloading a metronome app has helped a lot too.

Once it starts getting to the more "complex" area (aka: the first chord) it will tell you've done it wrong and not let you move past it no matter how many times you do it right. It had done this with me before, but it always accepted the second or third try, but by the first chord it refuses to accept that you're playing it at all. If I could give it 0 for how often it's said I played "incorrectly" when I'm playing the exact chord it's directing me to, I would.

I bought a subscription and was disappointed. Some exercises are impossible to complete, which seems like a bug in the app. A series of fast notes is always considered a mistake, even if performed perfectly.
