Keep tapping on the widget timer but can't open to set the time!?

It's almost what is needed in design intentions, but the app/widget doesn't function. It will change color when activated, but it doesn't count down unless you constantly alternate focus between parent app and home screen, and even then it stops functioning after about 3 min (tested on a 3hr timer, froze at 2h 57 m), which altogether defeats the entire purpose.

I like how simple and customizable the widget is. but It's annoying to use because you need to unlock your phone to turn off the alarm, I think it would be better if you could access the option to turn it off or restart the timer without unlocking
