★★★★★ Way better than it sounds I was hesitant to pick this up. How interesting could a Hamlet CYA be? The answer is f'n hilarious. It's really well written with great art, totally makes fun of the modern pretention surrounding Shakespeare and all the chars in the play. Even of you're not interested in Shakespeare (like me) the game book is still worth getting. If you ever wanted the ghost of hamlets dad to revenge himself by becoming corporeal inside Claudius and exploding him, nows your chance!

★★★★★ Hamlet as a lavishly illustrated game book. It's bloody hilarious. The book is snarky as hell. The illustrations are done by fantastic webcomic artists (and are all properly credited with links in the gallery!). The branch points are silly as heck and are great fun to explore. My only small gripe is that it's not that easy to scroll back at certain points, but minor complaint. Also, the game takes full advantage of the digital medium to include achievements, music, and other neat extras. It's a great buy whether you're a game book novice or veteran looking for a ROFLMAO inducing read.

★★☆☆☆ HHH, humor was fun but a bit too expectedly whacky. Rather obsessed with social justice, which is good where it gets things right, but wearying after a while. It's rather insulting towards the original work that Hamlet is called sexist for disliking Gertrude for being disloyal, which is framed as him and his father being angry with her for expressing female sexuality, would this criticism really be there if it was one woman murdering a Queen and stealing the King Consort and the King almost immediately ceases grieving and is happy?), and Hamlet's father is a ghost and thus assumed to be capable of revenge and a bad person for trying to get his son to avenge him when he obviously does not have such a capability in the original story, and the consequences of regicide and the theft of a crown are downplayed in favor of focusing on what a bad person the King is for wanting justice and his son to inherit the crown. Also lacks the ability to go to the exact checkpoint.
