HOW THE LOCK WORKS

Add your tasks. Lock the list. Now you cannot add anything new until every task on it is complete. No escape hatch, no "just one more." The only way forward is through.

It sounds harsh. It's the reason it works. A to-do list you can always add to is a to-do list you can always avoid.
