Trailcast

Trailcast is a bright, information-rich weather app built for people who actually go outside — and it answers the question ordinary forecasts don't: what will it be like THERE, when I get there.

TODAY, AT A GLANCE
• Big current temperature, "feels like", and how today compares to yesterday
• Humidity, pressure (hPa or mmHg), wind, UV and geomagnetic activity
• Hourly strip, pressure trend and a 9-day forecast
• What to wear, worked out from the feels-like temperature, rain, wind and UV
• Sunrise, sunset, daylight length and moon phase

OFFICIAL WARNINGS
Severe-weather warnings straight from the national services: MeteoAlarm across Europe and the US National Weather Service, shown next to Trailcast's own alerts for rain, storms, wind, heat, frost, high UV, geomagnetic storms and poor air.

ROUTE WEATHER
Build a walk from your saved places and Trailcast scores every point at its estimated arrival time — so a thunderstorm on the pass shows up before you set off. Import a GPX file from any planning app and the route builds itself, with walking times pre-filled from distance and climb. Export it back out to your GPS.

HIKING TOOLS
• Daylight left and your turnaround time
• Field risks: thunderstorms, wind chill, freezing level, slippery ground
• Bearings and distance to your saved waypoints, plus a compass
• Emergency numbers that work with no signal
• Drop a point anywhere on the map with its altitude — the forecast is re-run for that height, which is why the pass reads colder than the valley

WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Forecasts are cached on the device and shown again when the network drops, with an honest note of how old they are. Download an area before you leave.

ACTIVITY SUITABILITY
A deterministic engine scores 10 outdoor activities — running, cycling, fishing, gardening, picnic, hiking, beach, stargazing, drone flying and outdoor workouts — against rain, wind, temperature and UV, and tells you the best time window today plus a 7-day outlook.

MORNING DIGEST
One notification a day, at the time you choose, with the day's temperatures, conditions and what to wear.

AIR QUALITY
Air quality index with a clear health tip, plus PM2.5, PM10, ozone, NO2, SO2 and CO.

SKY & ASTRO
Moon phase, rise/set and next full/new moon; sunrise/sunset, golden and blue hour; a "sky score" for stargazing tonight; and an aurora chance from the Kp index.

WELLNESS DIARY
Log how you feel in one tap. After a week, Trailcast shows simple, statistical links between your rough days and the weather (pressure, geomagnetic activity) — no AI, just counts you can read.

MAP
Precipitation radar on an OpenStreetMap base. Long-press to save a point.

FREE, AD-SUPPORTED • DARK & LIGHT THEMES • 6 LANGUAGES
