Comments on Trainspotter for Android

★★★★★ Sam Roberts · Oct 11, 2020

I have been using this app for about 6 months now, and I have to say it is brilliant, I have experienced zero problems with the app, and also works very fast. I personally use the app when out trainspotting, and then transfer them into my book, the app gives livery information, allocated depot, previous numbers, owner and its status, a personal favorite feature of mine is the trips, so I can see when and where I saw the train or loco, would definitely recommend this app to any trainspotter. 5/5

★★★★★ John Pinza · Jun 2, 2025

I love this app, it's not perfect, but it is free. One thing could be improved. When adding numbers to a date/ location if you press the back button it takes you to the details of the last class uploaded rather than taking you back the way you came. A great app and I have recommended it to a number of other people.

★★★★☆ Matthew Garner · Nov 18, 2019

Nice app to save the trains that you have seen and put where and when you saw it. It always has up-to-date photos which update when the app updates on Google Play Store.

★☆☆☆☆ Lord Darren Wilson · Sep 6, 2026

Went to log in and the app had wiped itself even the backup wasn't working so had lost 1200 numbers very frustrating emailed contact no reply yet

★☆☆☆☆ Mark Lawson · Dec 28, 2021

This version will not restore my sightings from my tablet, not very good at all bring back the old version

★☆☆☆☆ Peter Graham Ramsden · Jan 1, 2020

I love this app you don't have to carry your spotters books you put the numbers in the app, and it crosses the train numbers out for you

★★☆☆☆ Robert Bray · Feb 11, 2022

February 2022 and the Great Northern Class 717s are still shown as 'under construction' This app would be good if it was updated once in a while

★★☆☆☆ Robert Bray · Dec 8, 2020

In general a good app BUT it would appear that updates are few and far between. My spotters book that came out in February 2019 is more up to date than this app. A great shame
