Trax Play

★★★★★ UPDATE....as of recent updates and what seems to be a better broadband connection in the NYC area...the device and app are rock solid. The updates have also prolonged battery life by at least 50%. I may get another.... .................................. My TRAX PLAY app crashed today. As described by others, it will start up and then immediately crash after trying to sync. After uninstalling the app and then installing again, the app works again. I have been using the TRAX device and the app for 6 months now in the NYC area (mainly Queens and the Bronx). I find the device and app are as good as the network that it uses. Currently in my area it uses the older AT&T broadband network. Not the best network at this point and the majority of the time it works fine (90%). The 10% that it has trouble getting a good signal is very annoying. I switched my cellphone from AT&T to Verizon for their better broadband signal strength so I'm pretty sure its the network and not the device. My one suggestion for TRAX is to make the battery life longer. It lasts for about 8 hours (when the update frequency is set to 1min) . I would like it to last 12+ hours given that some kids, in the city, commute 2 hours a day to school and also have after school activities. I wouldn't mind a larger form factor if it meant longer battery life. As for other devices, I haven't found one yet that is better overall....BUT I am always looking....

★★☆☆☆ Lots of bugs Cannot completely exit out of app. Notification icon stays and can't reopen app via the notification icon either. Tried to integrate with cell phone but SMS never showed up. Site hope the Trax I have been waiting for more for about 7 months works better!

★★☆☆☆ This was working perfectly when I first got it 6 months ago. After the last update it is next to useless. Battery goes flat in a matter of hours, regularly get the error message " cant connect to server" . Wont accept my password 1 out of 5 times. Had to update my phone as my Samsung Galaxy 3 won't run the new app . Not a fan of this any more and can't recommend this product now.

★★☆☆☆ Won't connect to server!! I keep trying to activate my trax device but the app will never turn on it just keeps trying to connect to server.. "sorry try again or close"

★★☆☆☆ App closes all the time b4 locating. I can't use the gps tracker bcs the app locks up and closes. Happens on: Samsung S5; Samsung S3; Samsung Tab 4 and an Asus TF301. I can't even look to see what my unit #s are. Unimpressed.
