TV Browser - Web & Internet — Android TV Web Browser for Smart TV & Set-Top Box
TV Browser - Web & Internet is your Android TV web browser for the living room—Google TV / Android TV, smart TVs, and boxes as one big-screen internet hub. Surf the web via Android System WebView (Chrome-class), steer TV Browser with the remote (optional gamepad-style input), and keep the full internet in one TV Browser app tuned for Android TV—big-screen web pages and internet streaming the way Android TV expects.
WEB, SEARCH & MULTI-TAB INTERNET BROWSING
TV Browser puts web search and internet shortcuts up front: https/http links, multi-tab browsing, and one-tap engines—Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Yahoo, Wikipedia, YouTube, Netflix search, Reddit, IMDb—on the TV Browser start page. The address bar combines URL entry and internet search with a visible active engine. Set TV Browser as default handler so other apps open web links in TV Browser - Web & Internet (parental PIN first if enabled).
DOWNLOAD SUPPORT — TV BROWSER & INTERNET FILES
TV Browser uses Android DownloadManager with notifications; the Downloads screen lists web-sourced files from pending to finished, with progress suited to TV viewing. Open with a viewer when the OS allows. Clearing the list drops DownloadManager records only—not automatic deletion of files saved from the web to storage.
AD BLOCKING FOR WEB & INTERNET (HOST LIST)
TV Browser ad blocking (default on) cuts many ad/tracker hosts on the web. The internet evolves daily—TV Browser cannot stop every ad on every page; curated host blocking in TV Browser is not a universal internet shield.
PRIVACY & PRIVATE WEB BROWSING IN TV BROWSER
TV Browser private mode limits web history, tightens session cookies, and clears them on exit—TV Browser still warns that networks may see internet traffic. In TV Browser Settings, clear cookies or broader site data; SSL issues always prompt before continue—no silent web bypass on the web.
ANDROID TV, REMOTE UX & WEB ON THE BIG SCREEN
Find TV Browser on the Android TV home row (Leanback). Virtual cursor, speed, desktop / mobile-site / TV user-agent presets, zoom, fullscreen web—true big-screen Android TV web and internet; back exits HTML5 fullscreen, then WebView history in TV Browser.
MEDIA, WEBVIEW & INTERNET COMPATIBILITY
System WebView powers TV Browser web pages and internet media: JavaScript, DOM storage, autoplay gesture toggle, and mixed-content compatibility mode. DRM, logins, and site quirks follow WebView and each publisher—TV Browser ships no separate Chromium build; your TV Browser web and internet experience improves as Android WebView updates roll out.
VOICE SEARCH & PARENTAL LOCK — TV BROWSER SAFEGUARDS
Voice search uses the device speech stack for web queries and URLs—mic only for voice. No engine: TV Browser explains. Parental lock (hashed PIN) gates browser, bookmarks, history, downloads, Settings—handy when TV Browser - Web & Internet is shared on Android TV.
BOOKMARKS, HISTORY & JSON — YOUR WEB IN TV BROWSER
Bookmarks and web history in Room—no cloud. Export/import TV Browser JSON when you change hardware; web & internet favorites stay in TV Browser.
WHAT TV BROWSER IS NOT — HONEST WEB & INTERNET POSITIONING
TV Browser - Web & Internet is not a VPN, not Tor, and includes no in-app cloud tab sync. TV Browser web ad blocking stays a curated host list—not AI-driven classification of every creative. Next to crowded Android TV browser and internet browser listings, TV Browser keeps claims grounded: WebView internet access, on-device downloads, privacy controls, and Leanback remote UX you can verify after install.
TV Browser - Web and Internet: downloads, ad blocking, private browsing, and more.
