It gives you real situations to which you can follow along and understand the words it teaches you. IT has a very good, AI assistant that you can ask questions about the meaning of words, comparison between that word and others, and it gives you really good answers. It's a fantastic feature. I like that it has content from anime, movies, dramas etc., so it's real world exposure to greatly help you grasp the meaning of each word. It's a fantastic learning app if you're learning Japanese.

This is an app to use only after you understand the fundamentals of Japanese. It's great for fluency but will not teach structure or why the sentence is formed this way, etc. still highly recommended!

So far so good. I'd update the review, but it's pretty good for learning correct pronunciations through videos of native speaking and also being able to compare our pronunciation with it. However not sure about how accurately AI judges but will see. Overall it's really good app to be used as standalone learning platform however it would be even better if there were grammar structure explanations like how each verb has its function in the sentence and so on. Well done umi developers!

This app is so glitchy. The audio randomly cuts out in the middle of a lesson & the only way to fix it is to close the app & re-open it. Especially annoying during the "Blitz", when suddenly you can no longer hear what the word is & all you can do is guess. There are also times you'll finish a lesson & it simply refuses to give you the fish. Even if you do it multiple times. It's as though you never completed the lesson. The speaking part also doesn't do that great at hearing what you're sayin

I'm on the 3-day free trial and the app conveniently crashes every time I go to look at the subscription, since this app auto-renews you'll get stuck with the subscription. Don't even bother.

Just randomly put my streak back to zero. I've been doing this with my mother to push her to study English (she uses another app) and it worked so well. We got up to a streak of 195. I missed a day here and there (overall quite many) and my streak was frozen for a day and then kept going. I never missed two days. I missed one last Saturday and my streak was suddenly gone. Seems random / faulty as there is no explanation. Very frustrating please fix it, and I'll happily give you 5 stars
