Discount driving app for USAA car insurance. Insightful look and tips to improve driving safety while rating each trip the app provides. Highly recommended for any USAA car insurance policyholder not to mentioned applied driver discount for upcoming premiums.

I don't have a problem with the app and love the discount that it helps to provide. However, it is utterly ridiculous to track the usage when it comes to the phone being used for a phone call (hands free of course). Seriously, unless you are going to monitor conversations of people in the car too then what is the point? My point is that talking to someone via hands free is safer that having a conversation with a passenger because you aren't periodically looking over at the person on the call.

I just finished the trial, and didn't have any major issues with that, but as I drive normally without any trip events, my "discount" score goes down. No phone events, no harsh braking, no speeding (which I was told wasn't tracked anyway). No bad marks, but the score has decreased every time I have driven. This is an awful way to track safe driving.

Review after Sep. update: The app uses a lot of battery, as in my pixel has lost 60% in 3 hours when the USAA drive app claimed 85% of that consumption. That's so extreme that I now force stop the app and consider uninstalling it. I wasn't driving or anything else, just walking the dogs and eating breakfast.
