Fully functional Trial version that allows up to 10 scans so you can test if your scanner is supported before buying. If you are buying a new scanner, we recommend the Plustek MobileOffice S400, as these drivers were provided by the manufacturer.

To scan while in Gmail, Evernote, Drive, etc, choose the option that would let you add from your camera, and Accusoft USB Scanner will show up in the list of choices. Select Accusoft USB Scanner, scan and save, and the document will be uploaded/attached automatically to your email, note or document.
For scanning from selected scanner models Accusoft USB Scanner uses backend libraries provided by SANE (http://www.sane-project.org). The drivers are distributed under GNU General Public License, version 2 with some exceptions as outlined here.

Almost Usable I tested five 8.5" x 11" pages, scanned duplex at 600 dpi with my ScanSnap S1500 and on the fourth sheet I got an out of memory error. I was able to save the pages that did scan to a PDF and when I opened them in Acrobat Pro on my Mac it thought the page size was 70.77" x 91.52" and wouldn't let me OCR the file because the page size was too big. I look forward to the day I can do all my work on an tablet w/ keyboard. This app is a big step in that direction but still needs refinement to be a productive tool for me. Automatic blank page detection would be great too.

Does not detect scanner I have installed this app, and it does not detect my Epson Perfection 1260 scanner. their website lists my scanner as supported, but untested.
