ABOUT VINCENT VAN GOGH
──────────────────────────────
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) painted for barely ten years and sold almost nothing in his lifetime. In that one decade he made some of the most recognized images in Western art: the wheat fields of Auvers, the cypresses and starry skies of Saint-Remy, the sunflowers of Arles. Thick, restless brushwork and saturated color turned paint into pure feeling, and it is why his canvases still reward looking at closely. This gallery is built for exactly that.
