Vessel view is really useful for analyzing best cruising speed with my Mariner/Mercury Outboard. The optimum speed and fuel consumption varies based on boat load, tide, wind and even hull condition. Could be improved by automatically saving trip data and engine diagnostics to the cloud and allowing you to see trend data over time. Currently, you need to export a PDF report and save that to your own cloud account like Google Drive. Be aware you need to buy the smart craft Bluetooth device.

This app works great on my phone. Tried downloading the app on my older tablet and was told the tablet software would not support the app. Do not want to buy a new tablet just for this purpose. Otherwise, it works great.

I had some initial trouble with the VVM. With some great focused help from Merc tech support It was determined that the problem was from some wiring anomalies from Bay liner. It was very simple to correct the problem. Having real-time info on engine status oil pressure water temperature actual fuel consumption accurate hours is amazing. Unusual to have this kind of information available on a small vessel. Tech support was outstanding. VVM is must have.

Overall it's very useful. I just wish I could view my digital trim on the app - dual graphs cover my factory gauges, but instead I'd need to spend over $600 bucks for a Smart Craft connect gateway in order to view it on my graph. Pretty steep prices for an already expensive $25k engine.

Bought this to monitor my engine data and engine codes, however it seems I cannot use this without enabling GPS location tracking which I did not sign up for. I do not want my location being tracked by any app, to intrusive on my privacy. Called Mercury tech to inquire if I can use this device privately without GPS location tracking, and they informed me they do not design the software and to inquire to the help dept through the app. I just wanted to speak with someone directly. No dice...

Doesn't work. They said to wait 2 days for them to work out connectivity issues. I will update my rating then.

Installed vessel view in the spring of 2021. Worked great to start out, that is a few months. Since then cannot get the app to connect to the module. Definitely would not buy again and recommend not wasting money your money on it.
