Are you getting a message asking Allow "VicEmergency" to access to your location? You need to allow access to see incidents and warnings for your current location. The steps for this will vary depending on your device, model and version of android, but should be similar to this: • Open device settings • Select applications • Select manage applications • Choose VicEmergency from the list • Tick the ‘show notifications’ box at the top of the screen

Does notify you properly and does what it needs to do (give you alerts on emergencies) but emergency wa app looks better and this app's ui/ux looks terrible

Couple of things : impact areas should be on by default as you would be surprised how many people don't look or know that option is in the menu. Also why in 2026 can we not even have delayed or snapshot satellite view to see the fire/smoke? Could have an option for the public to report embers and then turn that on and off to see how far ahead embers are travelling. Multiple notifications for air quality and other things when im clearly in fire zone not helpful and distracting. Where is wind? Thx

Replacing my old review as the app has improved greatly, been good for years now if you take the time to configure your watch zones, and has mostly worked without a hitch today under presumably very high load. My only gripe today is that the map is displaying the catastrophic rating areas despite having the ratings layer turned off, and the red of the catastrophic area makes interpretation of the warning areas difficult, particularly for people whose vision isn't great or who are color blind.

I use the Vic Emergency app a lot and for many years. But recently I've upgraded to a Samsung A57 phone and the Vic Emergency alert sound is NOT the normal app alert sound but a feeble and definitely not alerting sound. All I find is references that the sounds produced are from within the app itself. Phone related issue or Android version related?

Wouldn't let me change location, so I uninstall it, but now is has frozen won't let me do anything at all.terrible while in a fire prone area, please fix the problems 🙏

Some of the icons on the map vanish before you can read them - like the black red and white fire symbol. So, I have to go to the website to be able to see all the latest information on the fires and warnings.

6 years on from my initial review and nothing has improved regarding the constant notifications. The watch zones and associated filters work well but the constant notifications about air quality, heatwaves, total fire bans etc. work against the purpose of the app and make you more likely to ignore the important notifications. For the love of god give us an option to disable the state wide alerts/notifications as they are absolutely useless for all but the strictest of hermits

Useless! Once it is downloaded it won't let you set it up. The screen just freezes.
