Virus Total is an excellent on.demand virus scanner bar none. Not to be replaced by an active virus scanner that runs full time. For example, Lookout Antivirus or Kaspersky antivirus - two of the top choices when it comes to full-time Android security. However, virus total can put your mind at ease by scanning your Android with all the major antivirus engines on-demand.

Needs an Update! Like others have said, it's in serious need of an update. I know there's a similar VirusTotal app by FunnyCat in the Play Store, with a much more modern UI and regular updates, but when it comes to security apps, I don't like relying on an unknown third-party dev. FunnyCat implies their app was developed in collaboration with VirusTotal. I'd appreciate it if you could verify this. Also, is FunnyCat's app now the official VirusTotal app? If it's officially endorsed by VirusTotal, I'll probably download it.
