Description

Il territorio delle Colline Metallifere in Maremma è naturalmente vocato
al turismo lento ed alla mobilità dolce. Questa app che fa parte di un
progetto più ampio che coinvolge la sentieristica di tutto il territorio
del Parco delle Colline Metallifere che fa parte della Rete Mondiale dei
geoparchi UNESCO, offre la possibilità di scoprire camminando o andando
in bici o a cavallo uno dei paesaggi toscani più affascinanti e ancora
poco conosciuti.

Il progetto, del Comune di Gavorrano e del Parco delle Colline
Metallifere, è stato possibile grazie ad un finanziamento del PSR
2014-2020 METODO LEADER Misura 7.4.2 e al G.A.L. FAR MAREMMA. Il fine
del progetto è quello di mettere a disposizione di tutti coloro che
vogliono scoprire i borghi medievali, il patrimonio culturale, geologico
e ambientale di questo angolo di Maremma. La app sarà implementata e
aggiornata continuamente con tutti i servizi di fruibilità del
territorio che mano a mano andranno a regime. ll Parco delle Colline
Metallifere di cui il Comune di Gavorrano fa parte, nasce dalla volontà
di non disperdere la storia della attività minerarie e della metallurgia
che si sono succedute nel comprensorio per più di tre millenni e che
hanno influito alla determinazione del loro paesaggio culturale. La
salvaguardia dei siti minerari dismessi, integrata alle notevoli risorse
naturalistiche ed a fulgidi esempi della architettura ed arte
medioevale, esistenti copiosamente nella zona, fanno delle Colline
Metallifere un itinerario per un turismo diverso. Il tema conduttore è
la riscoperta delle tracce delle miniere ed il lavoro nel sottosuolo, ma
anche il pregio ambientale dei boschi e delle zone umide e la grande
rilevanza del patrimonio geologico rappresentato da geositi di rilevanza
regionale, nazionale e internazionale.
