Comments on VLC Remote for Android

★★★★☆ Shaheed Tait (KaRBoN85) · Jul 8, 2025

Just what I always wanted. Works great!! Some fine-tuning is needed, for example long press a file to edit the current playlist etc. But still worth it.

★★★★☆ Mike Watson · Feb 7, 2021

Well-designed app, worth paying for. But please please please include the "choose renderer" feature that VLC now has. Essential for people streaming music and video to Chromecast devices around the house.

★★★★★ Optimus Prime · Aug 9, 2019

Works better than the other paid vlc remote I just bought then found this

★★★★★ Yog Sothoth · Jun 28, 2020

So far it has worked great. It was worth it for me to pay for the unlocked version. The UI is well-designed an intuitive, and has functioned perfectly. It's the final step I've needed to make a complete standalone media player. Thank you!

★★☆☆☆ Nick Voncloft · Dec 29, 2021

Playlist does not populate unless vlc is already playing, also password doesn't save even when checkbox is clicked

★☆☆☆☆ John Tserkezis · Dec 5, 2019

Works as advertised, but cannot install paid version on more than one android phone/tablet. Results in "already installed" but charges me twice anyway. Also, it requires VLC to be running, that's fine, but could you get the PC app to run VLC manually if not already running?

★☆☆☆☆ Kim · Apr 11, 2024

Absolute rubbish. Will not connect to vlc on a remote Linux system. The earlier incarnation of this app worked flawlessly. I can't believe I paid money for this! The help webpage is a complete joke and the support is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and avoid.
