I had a bit of trouble entering food like an egg, since I can't scan a barcode for it and don't know the nutritional information without a database. But I got the hang of adding food manually eventually

Can't compare with other calorie counters since open source was a requirement for me. I can't speak for OFF integration and I only track calories. With that said I love it. It does what I want and I haven't noticed any bugs since the latest update. After the most recent update A LOT has changed, some good and some bad. One example being that you can change both number of servings and serving size in the diary now, so that complaint is irrelevant. The GUI is completely remade as well.

I wanted to move away from MyFitnessPal and use a FOSS alternative, but this has a number of problems making it a poor replacement. It reset my settings and lost my entries twice in a short period of time. It cannot search OFF entries. This isn't the fault of Waistline, but I also had so many problems just trying to make an account on OFF (they blocked all Zoho addresses, app crashes frequently, contributions disappear, other UI bugs) that this just isn't worth the hassle.

Nice app but all the food choices for the diary are in French. Tried resetting the default language, does not change. I would not mind learning French but not to use this app. If you can change this will change my review

Open food facts integration is still broken. Not able to even add account to make it functional. As is, the app is about as useful as a notepad. The developer is working on a new version according to GitHub, so I imagine this will eventually work again.

This is...not ideal for US-based users. The food database is in metric units. Did you just drink 8oz of milk? You can't enter 8oz in this app. You have to do the math on your own to figure out how many milliliters that is, and then enter that number. It has potential, but right now it doesn't yet have feature parity with MyFitnessPal (RIP).
