Waka Books

Waka Books is Ethiopia's community marketplace for books. Buy and sell used and new titles, rent a book instead of buying it, swap what you have finished reading, and discover work from Ethiopian authors — all in one app.

• List your own books for sale in minutes, with photos and a negotiable price
• Message sellers directly and agree a meeting point that works for both of you
• Post a book request when you cannot find what you are looking for, and let
sellers come to you

RENT AND EXCHANGE
• Rent books at a daily rate instead of paying full price
• Offer your books for exchange and swap with other readers
• Track your active rentals and exchange offers from one place

• Follow verified Ethiopian authors and browse their catalogues
• Pre-order upcoming titles through author presales
• Discover new releases and first editions as they are published

BUILT FOR ETHIOPIA
Waka Books is made for readers in Addis Ababa and across the country. Listings show
the seller's city and area, so you can find books near you and arrange a handover
that suits you both. Prices are in ETB throughout.

SAFETY
Every listing, review, post and message can be reported to our moderators, and you
can block any account you would rather not hear from. Blocking works both ways — a
blocked account can no longer message you or see your listings.

Waka Books is for readers aged 18 and over.
