WalkyTalky is an accessible navigation aid.
-Periodically updates the status bar with your current location to the nearest street address
-Ability to input a destination and directly launch Maps Navigation in Walking directions mode
Please remember to enable GPS when running this app!
Recent changes: -Added ability to navigate to a Contact if that Contact has address information.
-Changed speaking behavior to only start after the screen has been turned off or after Navigation has started. This makes it easier to set the destination by minimizing distracting messages while you are trying to type.

This is excellent For those questioning the usefulness of this app... It hooks into Google Navigation (which does the actual routing work) and periodically announces your current location via a status bar notification so you always know where you are. You need one of the SpeechSynthesis apps to get the most out of this. Not this app's fault, but I wish the ENG-GBR text-to-speech was a bit smarter about common names and street abbreviations... "near 3 Van Gogh Pl" sounds like "near 3 van goggle"

dubious description. considering the age of this app, I'm not sure its still relevant. whenever I try to use it, all it really does is pull up Google Maps and that is what actually does the navigating, not this app itself. does that seem confusing to anybody other than myself in light of the description? that's why I only give this app a two star rating.

P.O.S!!! routed me watt out of direct. Took me on secondary roads instead of the interstate, which is almost a direct line!!! P.O.S..
