Wands

★★★★★ Now that Wands has been updated to work with Android Pie, I was finally able to try out the game. There's a bit of a learning curve with the controls and the UI, as well as figuring out what is going on during matches; but after a bit of time with it, you start to get it, and it's actually quite fun. Switching spells during a frantic match in particular is one of the trickier parts of the game; since they're all small monochrome icons, you have to look carefully for which one you want to cast unless you have their positions memorized. It also looks like the Swipe control scheme is meant to be faster than the Point scheme (as you can teleport without having to swap out your selected spell first), but I could not get switching between spells while in Swipe mode to work reliably (which might just be an issue with the swipe pad on the Daydream controller itself). Matches are often won by whoever can make their actions fastest, so the control scheme used is really important. The graphics and sounds are great, and I love the concept. I'm strongly considering paying for the full game to see what else is offered.

However, since the last update which forces you to use a Google play games account (which I'm fine with) it does not recognize that I have already purchased the game and I lost all progress!! I've emailed, but have not received a reply.

★★☆☆☆ On the Axon 7, I can't click to go through the portal once I build my wand and use the lever to open it, I've tried troubleshooting but nothing seems to work, the basement opens for me to practice, but I can't get into multiplayer.

★★☆☆☆ Game never loads. Google Pixel 2 XL on the 2017 release of the Daydream view VR headset, running the latest Android P beta release.

★★☆☆☆ The loading screen keeps running endlessly ... I am connected with my Google Play account and restarted the game multiple time... Very sad to have wasted all this time ... (Pixel 2)
