War Chess: 3D Battle Arena

War Chess is real chess played by two armies on a 3D battlefield. Knights on war horses, bishops, war elephants as rooks, queens and kings stand on a castle-court board. The rules are exactly the rules of chess, so everything you know still works, and everything you learn here works on any chess board.

WAYS TO PLAY
• Versus computer – 8 levels from Beginner to Grandmaster. Play as White, as Black, or let the game choose.
• Two players – pass one phone between you.
• Wi-Fi match – one phone hosts, the other joins on the same Wi-Fi network. No account, no sign-up. If the connection drops you can rejoin the same game.
• Practice board – set up any position, take moves back, ask for a hint.

LEARN AND IMPROVE
• 16 step-by-step lessons, from how each piece moves to basic checkmates.
• 100 checkmate puzzles – mate in one, then mate in two – with hints when you are stuck.
• Every finished game is saved as a replay. Step through it move by move, or copy it as PGN for any other chess app.

COMPLETE CHESS RULES
• Castling, en passant and pawn promotion.
• Check, checkmate and stalemate.
• Draws by threefold repetition, the 50-move rule and insufficient material.
• Chess clocks: 1 min, 3 | 2, 5 min, 10 min, 15 | 10, your own custom time, or no clock at all.

BUILT TO BE READABLE
• Legal moves are marked on the board when you pick a unit.
• Swipe up or down to tilt the board between the 3D view and a flat top view. The units lean back so you can always tell them apart.
• Optional chess symbols on the squares, so you always know which unit is which.
• Unit counts and material lead for both sides, and a one-line move list.
• Captures get a close-up camera.

MADE FOR YOUR PHONE
• Plays in portrait: one hand is enough, and the board fills the width of the screen.
• Five graphics levels, from Lowest to Ultra.
• Adjustable button size, camera sensitivity and sound.
• Plays fully offline against the computer, a friend, lessons and puzzles.

FAIR ADS
The game is free. An ad can appear after a finished match – never during a game. A one-time "Remove ads" purchase switches those ads off for good.
