Why does turning Video Autoplay OFF not work for ads? The flicker on the video ads is horrendous and makes the app unusable. So far I've held on to my WaPo subscription, but this maybe the dealbreaker.

Seriously, how difficult is it to keep a podcast playing when the screen is off? I have to repeatedly pull my phone out of whatever pocket it's in and open the screen to get the audio to start playing again. Actually, open the app, bringing it back to the foreground before it'll continue. Not the way to run an audio player

I wish there was a way to turn off autoplay when listening to articles. Edit 3/19/26: Please do away with the "Josh" AI voice on articles. That voice is just about the most grating thing I've ever heard.
