WASM Weather – Forecast Alerts

The weather forecast where you actually are — down to the neighbourhood, across all 22 countries of the Arab world.

Most weather apps hand you one model's opinion. WASM is built on W.DMM, our own forecasting engine. It reads several of the world's leading global weather models, weighs them against each other and against real ground observations, and produces one forecast. When the models disagree, W.DMM settles it rather than passing the disagreement on to you. It is tuned for this region, not adapted to it.

WHAT YOU GET

• Weather alerts for your location: a notification the evening before and on the morning of a day with rain, dust, wind, heat or cold. Switch them off whenever you like.
• Hourly detail for the next five days — temperature, feels-like, wind, humidity, cloud, rain chance and visibility.
• A ten-day forecast with day and night shown separately, because a calm afternoon and a rough night are not the same day.
• The SWAS index: a single 0-100 score for how workable an hour actually is, built from the factor that matters most in that hour rather than an average that hides it.
• Severe weather made explicit — dust, fog, thunderstorms and heat stress are scored, not buried in an icon.
• Favourites: follow the cities you care about and switch between them with one tap.
• Your own settings: °C or °F, km/h or m/s, 12 or 24-hour time — applied everywhere, including the home-screen widget.
• A home-screen widget showing your location and your saved cities without opening the app.
• Weather news from the WASM team, in Arabic and English.
• Full Arabic and English interface, including right-to-left layout.

BUILT FOR THIS REGION

Forecasting the Gulf and the Levant is not the same problem as forecasting northern Europe. Dust, extreme heat, coastal humidity and sharp desert temperature swings all get specific treatment here, because they are what actually decides whether a day is workable for work, travel or farming.

LOCATION

WASM asks only for approximate, city-level location, and only to find your nearest supported area. The app works without it — you can simply pick your area from the list.
