Description
You already know which sites you open without deciding to. Website Blocker closes them.
Put a site on your blocklist and it stays shut. Open it anyway and you get a full screen instead of the page, with a few seconds to think before you can dismiss it. Long enough to notice you did it on reflex.
WHAT IT BLOCKS
• Websites, by address. Add youtube.com and it covers m.youtube.com too, so there is no back door through a subdomain. • Apps, picked from the ones already on your phone. • A one-tap import for the usual social sites, so you are not typing them in one by one. • Works across Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Opera, Samsung Internet, DuckDuckGo and Vivaldi.
ONE SWITCH
Blocking is on or it is off, and the switch says which. Nothing is blocked while it is off, so the app is never quietly deciding things for you.
BUILT TO BE HONEST, NOT CLEVER
• A pause before you can dismiss the block screen, set anywhere from instant to as long as you like. • Strict mode, so blocking cannot be switched off while a focus session is running. • Your own words on the block screen. Say something to future you. • Turn any entry off for a while instead of deleting it, then turn it back on. • Edit or remove anything on the list in two taps.
SEE WHERE IT GOES
A simple record of what you tried to open and when: today's count, the last seven days, what you reach for most, and your streak. No judgement, just the number.
EVERYTHING STAYS ON THIS PHONE
There is no account. There is no server. There is no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Your blocklist and your history are stored on your device and never leave it. The app cannot send them anywhere, because it has no internet permission at all.
ABOUT THE PERMISSION IT NEEDS
Android only lets an app see which page a browser is showing through accessibility access, so Website Blocker asks for it. It uses that access for exactly one thing: reading the address in your browser's address bar and the name of the app you have opened, so it can compare them against your list. That comparison happens on your phone, in memory. The app does not read the content of any page, does not log what you browse, and does not transmit anything.
You can turn the permission off in Android Settings whenever you want, and the app tells you plainly when it is off, because a blocker that cannot block should not pretend otherwise.
