Simple and effective quotes... But no way to control timing and range of reminders or even size of the text... Maybe it is a symbol of how little control we have over preparing for death.

I changed the notification sound to a brid chirp, and it's brightened up my days. Even my friends know what the sound means now, and before I even check the notification they go "don't forget you're going to die". ☺️ The quotes are great. Only flaw is that sometimes is feels like it's more than 5 times a day.

Liked the concept, but most of the quotes are platitudes and truisms, that have nothing to do with death. Anyone who's ever had depression once, would say these are not contemplative not existential. They need to hit harder, quality over quantity, even repeats. They need to be associated with a timer or some animation that holds you there for a few minutes. Also, 5 notifications in a day get lost in the sea of other apps notifications, which most users don't bother to stop (they come back anyway)

I thought I'd embrace the nihilism, after it was recommended on Twitter. There are no settings, it doesn't close, and the first thing shown was a quote about Margaret Cho's mom saying that she should die. Not really making me think about my mortality, at all.
