The search function is a bit hit-and-miss e.g I typed in lion on the map section to find directions and nothing comes up?? But there are definitely lions - I saw them (eventually!) so had to resort to the paper map to locate things. But once I had found what I wanted on the app the directions feature was excellent as was the rest of it, e.g. menus for forward planning, day plan set up etc .

A very useful map and timetable of events - almost perfect for planning a day out. I've knocked off 1 star because the locations given for events isn't always accurate - it merely points to a part of the enclosure.

I visited the zoo on Saturday with my two 10-year-old grandchildren, who were given the "feed the giraffes" experience for their birthdays. They both love giraffes and we're so excited about it. The keeper and volunteer assisting him were excellent and the children loved every minute of it. If you're looking for a fun and unusual gift I'd urge you to look at the zoo's experience gifts. They're worth every penny and of course the money goes to help with their wonderful conservation work.
