Perfect app. It doesn't do anything except display a white screen. Other apps have messed it up trying to get fancy. I use it to measure the stabilizer in my pool, where it provides the backlight necessary to measure the turbidity of the water once a reagent is added. Sometimes I also use it to study tiny insects and other objects where a backlight helps. Just perfect.

I like to take night portraits but don't like flashes as I prefer natural light (gives more context) and I have a sensitive camera. This app bumps up the light a little bit, to get a bit more out of the shadows. It also helps the AF more than a flash gun. I always have my phone with me, now it can act like a flash. It's easy to dim it, use screen brightness. Use torch simultaneously as bounce flash. Not as powerful as a real flash though.

There was an update that lets you adjust the brightness by swiping. This has completely changed how I use the app. I paint on clear plastic sheets and overlay that plastic on top of my phone, so I can get a good line of sight. Now that it's no longer just a "white screen" it changes its brightness whenever I use my markers. This ruins the app for me. Completely.
