Wildeverse was created in collaboration with Borneo Nature Foundation and Goualougo Triangle Ape Project, two organizations at the forefront of science and protection of rainforests in Africa and Asia. Zoo Atlanta and Chester Zoo are our official partners in the US and UK, helping us enlist an army of urban conservationists.
We traveled to the jungles of Congo and Borneo to witness their work and to scout the games' wildlife stars. We created virtual versions of Fio the orangutan, Chilli the gibbon, Buka the gorilla and Aida the chimpanzee, who are tracked and researched every day by these heroic science teams.
Wildeverse is the research subject of a scientific study on the impact of games on pro-environmental behaviors by the University of Oxford.
Wildeverse was recently featured in: BBC Wildlife magazine - ‘The best wildlife-themed games to play with family and friends’, June 2020 issue. National Geographic magazine - ‘Can video games make people care about wildlife conservation?’, June 2020 issue.

So.much.fun! So dangerously distracting, i.e. perfect for isolation/lockdown! Heard about it before it came out and it's not disappointed! Love the conservation and educational messages, as well as the graphics. We initially went in for a quick look, lost my friends (23+) to Fio and friends for over an hour! Was on a video call watching them search for poop and fruit 😂 Game did lag for me a bit when I got to low battery. Only problem there was I couldnt to wait for my phone to recharge!!

This app is educational and a lot of fun! The augmented reality is well done. There's the occasional glitch (like it briefly hangs when I point up too fast), but it all goes well with the premise that you are using experimental equipment. So far I have learned a fair bit about what orangutans eat (I'm glad the poo is virtual!). I'm looking forward to exploring all the levels. I also hope they add more species and researchers in the future!

Brilliant way to learn about wildlife (and access the natural world during lockdown).

Great game to teach kids about conservation. Quests are a bit redundant but are still fun. I love it. It is very interactive.
