The GPS tracking & analysis app for wingfoiling, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and 10+ more watersports.

WindsportTracker records your sessions on Android or Wear OS – with precise GPS data and algorithms refined for over 10 years for watersports. Instead of just the track, you see maneuvers, speed, planing and flight time, plus your progress across the season.

As a wingfoiler, you see flight time, foil phases and when you are really flying. As a windsurfer, you compare jibes, power jibes and speed runs. As a kitesurfer, you analyze wave rides, course distribution and session speed.

RECORDING & IMPORT:

• GPS recording on an Android phone or Wear OS – also offline without mobile data.
• Automatic import from Garmin, Coros, Suunto and Polar.
• File import: sessions as SBP, SBN, GPX, FIT, TCX, OAO, GPY or VKX.
• Track editor: trim the start or end – e.g. when recording stopped too late.

WEAR OS:

• Record sessions on your Wear OS watch – even when your phone is not nearby.
• Record heart rate during the session.
• Voice output: live speed while recording.
• Vibration alert on a new top speed.
• Mini stats live during recording.
• App shortcut on the watch face.

ANALYSIS & PROGRESS:

• Maneuver detection: automatic detection of tacks, jibes, power jibes and 360s. Compare your success rate on starboard vs. port.
• Speed analysis: Vmax, average and peak speeds for 2s, 5s, 10s, 500m, 1NM and alpha runs – plus upwind, 1 leg, VMG up and VMG down. Ideal for speed sailors and regattas.
• Course distribution: up/down and port/starboard.
• Voice output: live speed callouts – so you know when to push harder.
• Planing & flight time: how long and how far you were planing or flying vs. displacement – on a foil or classic planing.
• Wave ride stats: number, length and type of your wave rides – from best wave to longest ride.
• Long-term progress: development over weeks, months and seasons – from first planing or foil flight to longer power jibes and flight phases.
• Statistics: days on the water total, per year and month; jibes, power jibes, failed maneuvers.
• Session notes: rate the session and note gear, conditions or insights.

GEAR & EQUIPMENT:

• Document sails, foils, boards, kites and wings.
• Compare: which setup gives the best jibe rate? Which board gets you planing or flying fastest? Which foil fits which conditions?
• Helps with gear purchases – see objectively which rental equipment you rode better on.

SHARE & EXPORT:

• Session screenshot: share an image of your session on Instagram, WhatsApp or other channels.
• Data export: sessions as GPX or SBP.

I've been wing foiling with WST for a couple of years, and it's great. Takes a few sessions to get the hang of it, and it has a few minor bugs, but it gives essential analysis, including a track log, jibe count, VMG up/down, etc.

Excellent app for windsurfing! Importing gpx is easy (I can even do it from the coros app - share - to another app) Gives great insight on your sessions. Useful and nicely displayed statistics! Few improvements in my opinion: - automated cloud backup (to personal Google Drive for example), but it's possible to manually generate backups - filtering the sessions by gear in the session display menu - override planing threshold speed Great app! I really hope this app stays maintained!

Updated the app and now shows trial period ended and the back button has no effect. Edit after response: You can say it is not related to the update, but the effect is the same. I used the app for months, and suddenly a 27 days trials pops up. I understand monetization, and I love when you can keep the app ads free, but losing access to your old runs does not feel completely honest. I often upgrade to premium content, but not having a free tier is a deal changer imo.
