Description
Witcheye is a big, colorful, old-school platform adventure with a unique touchscreen control system that gives unparalleled control over the hero. Swipe to move and touch to stop, bouncing off of enemies and dodging hazards in six vibrant worlds. Set off on an adventure as a mild-mannered witch who transforms into a flying eyeball of vengeance after a smarmy knight and wizard steal her spell ingredients. You'll guide her through 50+ levels, each containing something completely unique: tricky new enemies, mysterious new environments, and puzzling new secrets. These elements are brought to life with colorful, clean pixel art and a lively, head-bobbing original soundtrack.
Designer Peter Malamud Smith was the co-creator (with Charlie Hoey) of the viral hit The Great Gatsby For NES, and creator of the well-received mobile action puzzlers Satellina and Satellina Zero.

This will sound like a nitpick, but it was a big turnoff for me. So there are 4 gems per level, which typically pop out of enemies. The gems float upward for a sec, then start falling down, and if you don't manage to catch one before it falls off screen, it's gone until you restart the level. The gems are optional, but as in games with 3 stars per level, I don't feel like I really beat the level w/out getting them all. Couldn't the gems just stay there? Would that really make the game worse?

Fun, unique controls. Love the art style and the levels are perfect length for a mobile gaming session

This feels like a platformer made sweet love to a brick breaker to make an awesome (but difficult) ball swiping game. Traverse tons of varied levels per stage of levels, many collectibles with secrets to find, challenging design and enemies with hard bosses. So much to this game to love! The Beautiful pixel graphics and little but funny story that's flipped on its head. Only issue, its Very difficult and rewards you with Higher difficulties and Boss Rush! More personal issue but still, geese! Lol

Great pixel art, great controls. The levels are short and challenging. Normally I don't replay games on higher difficulty. But this game is so well build, it is actually enjoyable to rerun the whole game again.

As of right now this game doesn't start up at all on my s24+ and ive seen in other reviews that its cus they haven't updated the app for newer android os since 2023. 3+ dollars wasted. I did get the game for an older phone a while back but I think google play or the devs need to update the playability status for games on different os more rigorously. Cus there's no obvious notice on the game page right now. It's so hard to justify mobile buys cus of these types of practices.

If you can beat this game, I envy you. I love devolver digital games, but this has the worst controls I've ever seen in a video game. Gems are another problem, where if you want to grab a gem, you gotta catch it because if you don't grab it, it will start falling to the bottom of the screen.

I really like the art, but the gameplay just doesn't feel good. The swiping feels off, and I'm constantly just swiping back and forth trying to aim at an enemy.
