I was very surprised at how very accurate the app was because the very vintage cupboards I've Just begun restoring yesterday (Nearly 60 yrs old!) were in rough shape! My husband and I have been arguing about what the wood was for 23 years, and I was right! Just for fun, I took photos of several other types of wood in my old farmhouse, beautifully old and worn, they nailed it! I have to cancel and switch emails, but I'll be back! Thank you!

I would recommend this for any apprentice in the woodworking field. With so many species of hard and soft woods identifying them can take time to master. Be nice to your rookies (I did my apprenticeship under some less than kind humans), give them a tool that will help them, and you be more productive.

Identify the wood totally wrong. I tested the same piece of wood three times and every time a different type of wood.

Poor identifications, used known wood mahogany and was identified as mesquite. Tried another and im not sure what type of wood it is but it's not what it identified as with the app.

Useless. Every picture I take of a piece of wood says "Success" which is then followed by "Something went wrong." So then it wasn't a Success after all. I tried with several pieces. Most were common wood. Pine. Walnut. Nothing worked.
