In Wood Shop, you can complete your craft in 3 stages: wood cutting, polishing and finally color painting. Wood carving at Wood Shop is very satisfying and fun. You can use the flat carve tool for larger surfaces while making the details with the v-tip carve tool.

Know say what you will about the adds, but they would be tolerable if the game worked as intended. All the tools work in the same way they all carve out as much as the other so the ability to change them is worthless it is just for cosmetic purposes and to "solve" that issue the game implemented an "it's ok we fix" part where you sand your carving and the wood magically grows back
