Write Demo

Write Demo does one thing: it writes a value into a UHF RFID tag's memory. Choose the memory bank and word offset, type the value in hex and tap Write. Use it to demonstrate EPC encoding or writing data into the User bank with an AIRSTANDARD reader.

WARNING: Writing changes the tag permanently. Writing the wrong bank or offset can make a tag unusable for your system, and writing a new access password into a tag cannot be undone without the old one. Try it on spare tags first.

IMPORTANT: Works with the AIRSTANDARD Air73 Bluetooth UHF RFID reader. The Air73 has no screen of its own; this app runs on your Android phone (Android 8.0 or later with Bluetooth) and controls it over classic Bluetooth (SPP). Without an AIRSTANDARD reader the app opens but cannot write tags. On AIRSTANDARD handhelds with a built-in reader (Air82), the same app uses that reader directly and skips the connection screen.

Connecting
1. Turn on the Air73 (unplug the USB data cable; Bluetooth is disabled while it is connected).
2. Open the app, allow Nearby devices and tap Search, or pick a reader from the previously connected list.
3. Confirm the connection. The app opens the write screen directly.

On the write screen
- Value: type hex digits; the app checks that the value is a whole number of 16-bit words and shows it back in byte pairs. Write is enabled only for a valid value.
- Bank: Reserved, EPC, TID or User. Offset in words (EPC starts after the PC word).
- RF power (dBm) and a result bar that shows success or the reader's error.
- Runtime settings: selection mask, session, target and SL, to aim at one tag when several are in the field.
- Access password: set the password used for access commands, or write a new one into the tag.
- Available in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.

What this app does not do
It does not list tags, read memory, lock or kill tags, or save files. Inventory, reading memory and locking are covered by other AIRSTANDARD demo apps, each published separately.

Permissions and privacy
- Nearby devices (Android 12 and later): to search for and connect to the Air73. Declared as not used to derive location.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): those Android versions require it for Bluetooth device search. The app never reads your location.
- Wi-Fi state: read by the reader connection library while preparing the device search; no Wi-Fi connection is made.
- Vibration and wake lock: feedback and keeping the device awake during work.
The app has no internet permission and does not collect or transmit any data. Tag data is handled only between your phone and the reader. The list of previously connected readers stays on your phone.
