Wyoming 511 is the official road condition and traffic information app of the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). Information comes from the same source as the wyoroad.info webpage.
- Provides pre-trip map-based road and traffic conditions (Map) - Displays web camera images (Map) - Shows users their route and mile marker location and includes latitude / longitude (Where Am I?) - Speaks conditions so drivers know what they can expect on the road ahead (Hands Free/Eyes Free) - Alerts drivers to traffic information, including crashes and other hazards within a user-specified radius (Hands Free / Eyes Free) - Periodically updates data from WYDOT’s servers over cellular and Wi-Fi connections - Uses GPS to provide location-based reports

The app gives me the most accurate data from the weather stations and cameras. I travel from Casper to Saratoga often, and weekly I travel to Rapid City, South Dakota and need to know what road conditions are from Casper to Midwest/Edgerton and then up to Gillette. Only complaint is Wydot needs to update road construction.

I prefer the road conditions map instead of the impact map. If much rather see what conditions are rather than having to tap on the road to find out.

Updates constantly fail. App shows old, inaccurate information. Even after force closing, updating, restarting, and reinstalling, it fails to update every time. The website appears to have correct and accurate road condition information, but none of this is reflected in the app. Not sure what the point of the app is, if you're going to have to rely on the web based version anyway. Perhaps current storm has the servers overloaded? (Feb 22, 2023) 1 star for the app, but 5 stars for the website!

This app has been extremely inaccurate lately. I left work early thinking I had to hurry before the roads closed only to find that they were perfectly safe to drive on. I also stayed at work when I should've gone home because this app incorrectly showed me that the roads were fine when they weren't. I always check to make sure the information is recent, so it wasn't because I was unknowingly using hours-old information. I used to be able to rely on this app but can't anymore. Please fix it!
