XiaoDroidLink

XiaoDroidLink turns your car's CarLink screen into a dashboard for your Android phone: navigation, music, messages, weather and your phone's apps on the big screen, with large buttons made for driving.

Made and tested for the Xiaomi YU7. Other cars with CarLink (ICCOA) may work, but have not been tested.

WHAT YOU GET
• Dashboard on the car screen: clock, weather, music, map, messages, calendar, favourite contacts and voice assistant. Choose the widgets and arrange up to four screens.
• Navigation: built-in OpenStreetMap search, routes and turn-by-turn voice guidance, or your phone's Google Maps or Waze on the car screen with big buttons beside it: Address, Route, Home, Work, Where am I.
• Voice search with the car's microphone: say an address to plan a route, or say a song title and artist to play it in YouTube Music.
• Music: album art, play, pause and skip for YouTube Music, Spotify and other players. Sound goes to the car over the CarLink Wi‑Fi connection.
• Phone screen mode: show any phone app on the car screen and control it by touch from the car.
• Calls stay on the car's Bluetooth.
• Safety: voice warnings for speed cameras, and air raid alerts for your region in Ukraine.
• Nearby EV chargers, trip time and distance, song lyrics.
• 8 designs, each with a day and a night version.
• 14 languages: English, Ukrainian, Chinese, French, Spanish, German, Polish, Kazakh, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Tajik, Georgian, Armenian and Kyrgyz.

HOW TO START
1. Open CarLink on the car screen.
2. Open XiaoDroidLink and tap Connect. The first time, enter the code the car shows and allow the car's Wi‑Fi.
3. Next time the phone connects by itself when you get in the car.
Requires Android 13 or newer.

PERMISSIONS AND PRIVACY
• Location: map, navigation, weather, speed cameras and the air alert region.
• Microphone: only after you tap a voice search button. Speech is recognised by your phone's speech service.
• Notification access: music, navigation directions and Viber and Telegram message status on the dashboard.
• Screen sharing: only after you allow it in Android's dialog, to show a phone map or the phone screen in the car.
• Accessibility (optional): forwards your touches from the car screen to the phone app shown in the car, opens the apps you choose, keeps the phone screen on while it is shown in the car and, only when you ask, presses Play on the song you searched for in YouTube Music or the "my location" button of the phone map. It reads the phone screen only to find that button.
XiaoDroidLink has no account, ads or analytics and sends nothing to the developer. Searches go directly to the services that answer them: OpenStreetMap, YouTube Music, weather and air alert services.
