Hier konzentriert man sich auf die Bekämpfung der Symptomatik, obwohl die Wissenschaft zunehmend Belege für enge Zusammenhänge zwischen ADHS und etwa Depressionen, Alkoholismus und Drogenkonsum, Gewaltverhalten sowie vielfältigen Problemen am Arbeitsplatz und nicht zuletzt auch Beziehungskrisen liefert.
