African Ambassador is a free quiz and trivia card game about all 54 African countries. Answer a card, then read a short fact about it, whether you got it right or not. The cards tell Africa's story from an African point of view, so you learn African geography, history and culture as you play.
WAYS TO PLAY
• Safari: an endless solo quiz that gets harder level by level. You have three lives.
• Daily Tracker: 15 new cards every day, the same for everyone. Keep your streak going.
• Weekly Deck: 10 cards on one theme, new every Monday.
• Language: words, greetings and sayings from African languages. Hear how to say them, then learn what they mean.
• Beat the Time: answer as many questions as you can in 30, 45 or 60 seconds.
• Lost Crown: a clue-by-clue mystery. Uncover African rulers, ancient kingdoms, lost cities and sacred artefacts. The fewer clues you use, the higher you score.
AKILI GAMES
Akili means "mind" in Swahili. Three games for thinking, not only knowing:
• Odd One Out: three answers share a region, a coastline, a currency, a language or a border. Find the one that doesn't belong.
• Market Day: quick market sums in African currencies, before the time runs out.
• Oware: Ghana's classic seed game, played across West Africa. Play the computer or a friend.
PLAY WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
• Challenge friends: send a link. Everyone plays the same 10 cards on their own phone and lands on one scoreboard.
• Pass one phone around: 2 to 6 players take turns and can steal the cards others miss.
• Classroom Mode: one big screen for a class or a family, with teams, topics and talking points after each card.
WHAT'S IN THE CARDS
Flags and capitals, maps and borders, rivers and lakes, wildlife and national parks, natural resources, food, languages, history before and after independence, famous Africans, trade and business, and tourism. Fresh Cards arrive every two weeks about what is happening across Africa: sport, music, business and travel.
YOUR PROGRESS
• Climb from Rookie to Explorer, Ambassador and higher with every right answer.
• Collect passport stamps for all 54 countries.
• See which topics you know best on your Africa profile.
• Weekly and monthly leaderboards.
FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
Classroom Mode turns a projector, TV or laptop into a quiz show for a geography, history or social studies lesson. Keep any game as a Logbook: a PDF with every question, your answer, the right answer and why, to revise from or print.
FOUR LANGUAGES
Play in English, French, Swahili or Arabic.
FREE TO PLAY
Your first game needs no sign-up. After that, get a free Ambassador Pass with just your email. There's no password.
The phone app shows a few ads, each marked Ad, and never during a game. Watch a short ad to earn Kadi, the game's coins, and spend them on Logbooks or a streak freeze. Kadi and the Teacher pass for Classroom Mode can also be bought in the app. Everything else is free.
