AimVitals: Shot Placement

You've spent thousands on the hunt of a lifetime. You're deep in the African bush, heart pounding, staring at a massive Cape buffalo through your scope. You have one shot. Where exactly do you place it?

Miss the vitals on a dangerous animal and it charges. Hit too far back on that once-in-a-lifetime kudu bull and you'll spend the next three days tracking a wounded animal through thick bush — or worse, you'll never find it. Place your shot two inches too high on a record-class whitetail and you destroy the trophy mount you've been chasing for years.

AimVitals (formerly Hunter's Field Guide) puts exact shot placement in your hands — instantly.

Built by hunters, for hunters, this app gives you precise shot placement diagrams for 50+ species across Africa, Europe, and North America. No guesswork. No second-guessing. Just clean, ethical kills and trophies you can be proud of.

FEATURES THAT WORK IN THE FIELD

Exact Shot Placement Diagrams — Pinch and double-tap zoom to see the precise kill zone on every animal, from every angle. Know exactly where to place your crosshairs.

Works Offline — No Signal Required — Shot placement images are stored directly on your device. No cell reception in the backcountry? No data in the African wilderness? No problem. Your shot placement guide is always ready, even where there's no signal.

Large Buttons, Glove-Friendly Design — Designed for real field conditions. Oversized touch targets work with hunting gloves, cold hands, and shaking fingers. No fumbling with tiny buttons when the moment of truth arrives.

Fast Animal Search — Find your target species in seconds. When a trophy animal steps out and you need a quick refresher on shot placement, every second counts. Search is instant.

51 Species Covered — From dangerous game like lion, buffalo, elephant, and hippo to prized trophies like kudu, eland, red stag, elk, moose, and whitetail. Africa, Europe, and North America — all in one app.

Caliber Recommendations — Know which calibers and bullet weights are proven for each species. Don't show up undergunned.

Field Tactics & Daily Habits — Learn when and where each species feeds, waters, and beds. Understand their behavior patterns so you can be in the right place at the right time.

Trophy Records — Know what a record-class animal looks like before you pull the trigger. SCI and Rowland Ward measurements for every species.

Habitat & Terrain Intelligence — Understand the terrain and vegetation each species prefers so you can read the landscape and predict where to find them.

Hunt Plan — Save target species to your personal hunt plan. Organize by trip, review shot placement for every animal on your list, and walk into camp prepared.
