Aptos ONE Customer Display

Aptos ONE’s Customer Display Application (CDA) functions as an external device for customer display purposes to be used in conjunction with Aptos ONE's Store Selling application (SSA), allowing the customer to see the same transactional information as the sales associate. The intended implementation is when a payment sidecar integration is being used rather than a direct integration payment provider (Adyen/Aurus). The CDA must be installed on an iPad. Once installed, guided access is enabled on the device to prevent shoppers from interacting with anything besides the CDA.

The attached screenshots highlight the transaction information the CDA displays to the customer in real-time. The information is always displayed in the store's default language, and the application remains auto-scrolled to the bottom of the viewing screen when the amount of information exceeds the screen size.

The CDA uses a monospace font and the SSA provides the proper padding/spacing to make the data align correctly within their area and the areas to each other. For the line items the SSA sends item header data with padding/spacing to ensure that the data appears in 3 columns on the CDA, where the:
• Left column shows the quantity.
• Middle column shows the description.
• Right column shows the amount.

The Totals side panel:
• Displays all the transaction totals: Subtotal, Tax, Total discounts, Total tendered, amount Due
• Provides an option for a branding image to be displayed as part of the virtual receipt area


Customer signature capture:
• Is supported for all scenarios where the shopper's signature (not the sales associate's signature) must be captured, such as returns, employee discount, tender authorization, item pickup, etc.
• Configuration controls where signatures are to be captured. When the external display is specified and it is time to capture the customer's signature, the Store Selling application displays a dialog that indicates the shift of focus to the external display and provides a Cancel button that allows the Sales Associate the option to return focus back to the Store Selling device if the situation requires it.
• When a signature cancel request is received, the CDA returns to the line display screen or to the idle screen if the transaction has ended.

Other aspects of the CDA include:
• A launch screen that is similar to the SSA launch screen to reinforce application consistency.
• An idle screen that displays a configurable image when not displaying transaction information to the customer.
• Logic to allow the SSA to function normally even if the CDA or the device isn't accessible or has become unresponsive.
• Configurable application logging for the CDA.
 
Certificate Authority (CA) support
Aptos ONE uses the Certificate Authority (CA) for the authentication process, ensuring that digital certificates issued for applications and websites contain accurate identity information. Furthermore, the incorporation of Subject Alternative Names (SANs) in CA adds an additional layer of security, allowing for comprehensive monitoring, verification, and configuration of hostnames, IP addresses, and URIs.
