Astraflare – Aurora Forecast

Astraflare turns live space-weather data into a plain answer to one question: what's worth looking up for tonight?

It fuses real-time feeds from NOAA SWPC, NASA DONKI, NASA Helioviewer, USNO, CelesTrak, the Minor Planet Center and Open-Meteo with on-device astronomy — so aurora odds, clear-sky windows, solar flares, eclipse paths, satellite passes and conjunction alerts all live in one clean app.

Built for aurora chasers, astrophotographers and casual sky-watchers.

AURORA
• Live Kp index and 3-day forecast
• OVATION aurora-oval map with cloud-cover overlay
• Tonight's-window card: a plain-English verdict combining twilight, Kp, moon, clouds and latitude
• Bortle light-pollution hint for your spot
• Photography assistant with camera recipes (ISO, shutter, aperture) tuned to conditions and a "leave by" countdown

SOLAR
• Live SDO imagery (AIA 171, AIA 304, HMI) and SOHO LASCO C2/C3 coronagraphs
• X-ray flux chart, flare probability, recent-flares log
• Solar wind — speed, density, Bz — on 12 h / 24 h / 7 d ranges
• Sunspot number, F10.7, Solar Cycle 25 progress
• Coronal-hole tracker and high-speed-stream events
• CME tracking with a 3-D propagation orrery
• NOAA R / S / G space-weather scales at a glance

SKY
• Moon phase, illumination, rise / set / transit
• Civil, nautical and astronomical twilight windows
• Planets tonight — rise / set, altitude, magnitude
• Comets tonight from Minor Planet Center orbital elements
• Visible satellite passes (ISS, Starlink and more) — computed on-device via SGP4, no server round-trip

EVENTS
• Solar and lunar eclipses through 2100 with local circumstances and path rendering
• Meteor-shower calendar from IMO data — peak dates, ZHR, radiant altitude
• Planetary conjunctions and planet parades
• 30-day geomagnetic-storm history

ALERTS
• Live SWPC bulletins categorised by type (geomagnetic, flare, radiation, radio blackout)
• Configurable push notifications — Kp threshold, minimum flare class, conjunction separation angle, planet-parade size, eclipses visible from your location
• Background polling plus server-side push so you don't miss a short-notice event

THE LITTLE THINGS
• Share Tonight — one-tap 1080 × 1350 portrait card of your best sky event
• Every on-screen term has an info button linking to a built-in glossary — nothing stays jargon
• UTC or local time, your choice
