Add a location in All Locations and test the connection before you save it. Astrape works with:
- File servers: SMB, NFS, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV, and web servers that show a directory listing.

Picture and sound
- Plays MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, MPEG-TS and more.
- What the Apple TV can decode plays exactly as it is in the file. Video it can't open is converted as it plays, where the device can keep up.
- HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and all other HDR formats Apple TV can show. In Settings, choose which HDR formats your TV shows; each video plays in the best of them that the Apple TV can do, and in standard dynamic range when none is.
- Audio the Apple TV can play is passed through. Other audio tracks are re-encoded to a suitable format without noticing audio quality loss.
- Scrub with the remote's touch surface: swipe across it, or turn a finger around its ring for a faster scrub.
- Image Details shows the light and color of an HDR picture, with a heat map and a live overlay. Media Info shows what is in the file.

Subtitles
- Embedded and external subtitles, including Blu-ray and DVD picture subtitles.
- For the files you don't have subtitles for, you have the ability to use Opensubtitles.

Live TV
Stream live channels from your own Tvheadend server and IPTV playlists you add.

Web Remote and Mac
- Web Remote: scan a code on the TV with your phone, and send a video address to the Apple TV. Set a PIN in Settings; until you do, anyone on your network can use it.
- Astrape Companion for Mac adds servers and streams from your Mac and shares its folders with the Apple TV.

We deeply care about your Privacy
Astrape has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Posters and descriptions are looked up by the title, year and episode read from each file name, never by its address or sign-in. Metadata Online Lookup, Folder Suggestions and Share Diagnostics can each be turned off in Settings, Privacy. Share Diagnostics asks only after something goes wrong, and sends nothing unless you say yes.
