Description by Takeaki Shimizu(from the App Store)
Your time is limited. Be Finite helps you see that clearly — not to create anxiety, but to inspire intentional living grounded in Stoic philosophy.
HOW IT WORKS
Enter your birth date, country, and lifestyle habits. Be Finite calculates your estimated remaining days using WHO life expectancy data, adjusted for factors like smoking, exercise, and alcohol consumption. This is not a generic average — it reflects your life.
LIFE CLOCK
Your home screen displays the days remaining in a calm, focused interface. A daily Stoic quote accompanies the countdown, offering perspective drawn from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, and other Stoic thinkers. If you have statistically exceeded your life expectancy, Be Finite celebrates your bonus time rather than counting down.
LIFE CALENDAR
View your entire life as a grid of weeks. Weeks lived are marked. Weeks remaining are open. This single visualization communicates what words cannot — the finite nature of your time and the importance of each week.
SCREEN TIME AWARENESS
Log your daily screen time directly in the app. Be Finite calculates how many of your remaining days are being spent staring at a screen. This is not a judgment — it is information. What you do with it is your choice.
WEEKLY REVIEW
Each week, reflect on what mattered. The Weekly Review asks simple questions rooted in Stoic practice: What went well? What could improve? What deserves your attention next week? Over time, these reviews become a record of intentional living.
DAILY STOIC QUOTES
Receive a daily notification with a Stoic quote selected to encourage reflection. Each quote is paired with the countdown, reinforcing the connection between philosophy and action.
PRIVACY FIRST
All your data stays on your device. Be Finite does not track you, does not collect analytics, and does not share your information. Your mortality is personal — your app should respect that.
PRICING
The life countdown, daily quotes, and basic features are free. Premium features — including Life Calendar, Screen Time tracking, and Weekly Review — are available as a one-time purchase of $3.99. No subscriptions. No recurring charges. Be Finite is inspired by the Stoic practice of memento mori — remember that you will die. Not as a morbid exercise, but as the foundation for a life lived with purpose, clarity, and gratitude.
Each subscription will automatically renew 3 days before the expiration date for
the same time period. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time before the renewal.
