BeatPocket is a metronome built for drum practice. Set a tempo and a time signature, and it counts the bars for you — with a cue sound every 4, 8, or 16 bars so you always know where the phrase turns around.

WHY IT HELPS

Practising to a bare click tells you whether you are on the beat. It does not tell you whether you are on bar 3 or bar 7. BeatPocket keeps that structure audible, so you can work on eight-bar phrases, fills that land, and endings that arrive on time — instead of losing count halfway through.

Recording closes the loop. Play a take against the metronome, listen back, and hear the difference between how it felt and how it actually sat. Add piano and bass from your own chord progression and you are practising against something musical rather than a click alone.

NOTES

• Recording is a Pro feature. iOS asks for microphone access when you start your first recording — nothing is captured until you allow it.
• Recording over a song: the delay of Bluetooth headphones is corrected automatically, and if a take still sounds off, you can nudge it earlier or later by hand.
• Recording with the metronome or backing: wired headphones are recommended. Bluetooth adds latency that can make these recordings sound out of time.
• Practice Along with Songs requires iOS 27 or later. Import mp3, m4a, wav, or aiff files (up to 11 minutes) from the Files app; songs from Apple Music can't be used.
• BeatPocket is available in English and Japanese.
