BedtimeShema

Kriat Shema al HaMitah — the traditional Jewish bedtime prayer sequence — in a single, quiet, distraction-free app.

BedtimeShema presents all fourteen sections of the bedtime Shema in their traditional order, from the forgiveness declaration through HaMapil and the closing verses of protection. Every word of Hebrew text has been carefully verified against authoritative sources. Nothing is abridged, paraphrased, or improvised.

Each section includes:

• Complete, verified Hebrew text in clear, readable type
• English translation
• Commentary and guidance by Rabbi Avraham Sutton
• Recorded recitation by Rabbi Sutton

Designed for the end of the day:

• A dark, calm interface made for reading in bed
• Immersion mode — controls fade away, leaving only the words
• Adjustable text size for comfortable nighttime reading
• Fully offline — no account, no internet required, nothing to configure

No ads. No subscriptions. No tracking. Just the words, said the way they've been said for generations, ready every night.

The bedtime Shema is one of the most intimate moments of the Jewish day — a few minutes of reflection, forgiveness, and trust before sleep. This app was built to honor that moment, not compete with it.
