Bidoup Mushrooms Explorer Lite

Real mushrooms from a real forest: 6 species that grow in Bidoup–Núi Bà National Park in Vietnam, drawn by hand by a naturalist artist and waiting for your colours.

No internet. No ads. Nothing collected. Paper, ink and paint, and that is all.

Pick a mushroom, pick your colours, make it yours. Brush, fill, eraser and eyedropper; four brush sizes; undo and redo; a ready-made natural palette or colours of your own. Save the finished picture to your device or share it.

Then look closer.

Every species has a short note about where it lives and what it does in the forest, and a simple introduction explains what fungi are and why a forest cannot do without them. The collection can be sorted by the way a mushroom carries its spores — gills, pores, teeth, a net of branches — which is how a naturalist learns to tell one from another: by looking.

For every mushroom the artist painted her own version, with colours taken from the living fungus and the forest around it. It is there for ideas. Your colours are your own.
