LOG A CASE IN SECONDS
• Pick the procedure, your role and the steps you did yourself, in a few taps
• Count repeated steps, such as three distal anastomoses
• Favourites, recent procedures and suggested tasks for each procedure
• Repeat your last case with one tap, or start one from the Home Screen
• Works offline in the OR and syncs when you're back on the network
SEE WHERE YOU STAND
• Progress rings against the minimums your program sets, by category, procedure, task or role
• Case totals by category, your top tasks and your logging streak
• Your full log, searchable by procedure, attending or note
ACHIEVEMENTS
Earn achievements as you log, with commentary from a System that has seen too much. Minor ones stay on your iPhone. Major ones are announced to your own program, anonymously if you prefer.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No patient identifiers, ever. Bistouri never asks for names, record numbers, health card numbers or dates of birth.
• A private note on a case stays encrypted on your iPhone. It is never uploaded or backed up.
• Optional Face ID lock
• No ads, no analytics, no trackers
• Data stored in Canada (Montréal)
• Delete your account and all your cases from the app at any time
BUILT FOR PROGRAMS
Each program director sets their own program's procedure lists, tasks and targets on a web dashboard, and the app picks up changes without an update. Directors see their residents' progress, logging activity and exports for competence committee reviews.
Bistouri is open to surgical residents and program directors at McGill University, starting with Cardiac Surgery and Vascular Surgery, with General Surgery and Otolaryngology to follow. Sign in with your McGill email address; residents from other institutions can be invited by their program director.
Bistouri is a self-reported educational log. It is not a medical device and does not replace your program's or hospital's official records.
