SeaLog is a professional sea time logging and reporting app for captains, crew, mariners and recreational boaters working toward USCG licensing requirements, including the Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) license.
Track your time on the water, organize your vessel experience, and generate structured service records designed to support the CG-719S sea service reporting process.
Most SeaLog functions are free, including trip recording, vessel and trip management, data import, backups, and CSV exports. SeaLog Pro adds PDF sea service reports and KMZ and GPX trip exports. SeaLog Pro subscriptions also support marine conservation and fisheries management by contributing more than 10% of the paid subscription fee to the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) through its Preferred Partners Program.
Start and stop a trip with a single tap and SeaLog tracks the elapsed time, even with the screen locked. Choose the vessel afterwards, then record route category, water bodies, role served, and attestation information. You can also import existing records to build a complete history of your sea service.
During active trips, SeaLog uses your device's location to document the voyage. Its GPS quality engine evaluates each incoming position, leaves out unreliable positions and impossible jumps, and retains a representative track of vessel movement, stored locally on your device.
SeaLog tracks your progress for you: total qualified sea days, your last three years, and your seaward, Great Lakes, and shoreward days across the Inland, Near Coastal, Oceans, and Great Lakes route categories. The Trips list shows which trips are qualified, which fall short of four hours, and which still need information.
SeaLog can also build a history of weather and sea conditions for each voyage. Conditions are captured at trip start, hourly, and at trip end, and you can capture them whenever something noteworthy occurs. Records include available information such as weather, wind, temperature, pressure, visibility, waves, and swell. Conditions come from the U.S. National Weather Service (NOAA), cover U.S. waters, and are reported by the nearest station or modeled for the vessel's location and time. They should not be considered an onboard weather or marine measurement.
SeaLog generates clean, structured reports designed to support USCG sea service documentation: a summary certification page, a vessel record with a month-by-month days grid for each vessel, and an attester verification page for each attesting person, all ready to sign. SeaLog reports are supporting records and do not replace official USCG forms or Coast Guard review.
Your data remains under your control. Export trip records as CSV files, create user-controlled backups, and use SeaLog Pro to export PDF reports, KMZ tracks, and GPX tracks. No SeaLog account is required.
SeaLog is designed with privacy in mind. Trip records are stored locally on your device rather than in a centralized SeaLog database, and are not sent to anyone unless you export or share them. To retrieve conditions, SeaLog sends an approximate position, rounded to about one kilometer, to the National Weather Service. SeaLog contains no advertising and no analytics, and you can clear your stored data within the app.
SeaLog supports long-term logging across multiple vessels with multiple attesters and is structured around real-world sea service workflows. It focuses on doing one thing well: helping you log, organize, check, and document your sea time with clarity and accuracy.
SeaLog is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United States Coast Guard.
