Bolabolabola: Generative MIDI

Bolabolabola is a generative MIDI sequencer that plays like a game of pong. Every note you send becomes a ball. Every time a ball hits a wall or another ball, it plays its note. Bend gravity, reshape the walls and let physics write fresh patterns for your synths, drum machines and samplers.

HOW IT PLAYS
• Each note you play drops a ball that carries that note
• Wall hits and ball to ball collisions trigger the note, timed with sample accuracy
• Up to 10 balls bounce at once. Add one more and the oldest bows out
• Open the walls and balls can fly out of the room, so silence becomes part of the groove

SIX CONTROLS TO SHAPE THE CHAOS
• Gravity: from slow and floaty to fast and frantic
• Ball Mass: change the weight and feel of every bounce
• Wall Shape: morph smoothly between a hexagon, two flower patterns, a wide spread and floating platforms
• Rotation: spin the walls clockwise or counterclockwise for patterns that keep shifting
• Border Walls: close the room and keep every ball in play
• Random Spawn: launch balls from the center or from anywhere on screen

• Load it in the MIDI FX slot of AUM, Cubasis, Logic Pro for iPad and other AUv3 hosts
• Automate every parameter from your host
• Grab a MIDI controller and play the physics with CC 20 to 25. Your moves show up in the plugin and the host
