Start with a few books from your shelf. Scan their ISBN barcodes, check the details, and add as much or as little as you like. Bookshelf is just as handy in a used bookshop when you’re wondering, “Do I already have this one?”

Build your library
Scan one book or a stack, review the matches, and save your copies. Search by title, author, series or publisher, add older books manually, or import a Goodreads or other supported CSV export. If a barcode finds nothing, try the title: catalog records aren’t always complete.

Keep every copy’s story
Record binding, edition, printing, signatures, condition, shelf location, purchase details and notes. Add a signature photo or save the copyright page. Your signed hardcover and well-loved paperback get separate records; group matching titles when you want a tidier view.

Find what you need
Check scanned ISBNs against your saved collection. Browse by cover or in a list, sort by author, and filter a large library. Choose your collection counts and the details beneath each title. Bookshelf remembers your browsing position, filters and expanded copy groups on that device.

Keep a wishlist, see owned and missing titles in supported series guides, and keep track of loans. Mark books as read, add ratings and reading notes, or pick your next read from books you already own.

Make it your collection
Find a cover, photograph it or paste a copied image. Review edition and printing suggestions from a copyright-page scan before applying them. Use optional iCloud syncing across iPhone, iPad and compatible Apple-silicon Macs. Export backups and access local recovery copies.
